DPx HEST (Hostile Environment Survival Tool) Gen. 2 Folder. Redesigned for 2011! This knife will have a larger frame, tighter 3mm pocket clip, revised pivot geometry, meatier lock and a 4mm G-10 scale that replaces steel. All of which makes this HEST folder stronger and lighter than the original.
For the first time the brutal, rugged feel and performance of the DPx H•E•S•T fixed blade has been engineered into a hard use frame lock folder. The D2 Tool Steel folder comes with a Titanium alloy frame, patented RotoBlock adjustment, removable glass breaker (with replacement smooth-head screw), hex-bit driver in handle/frame, and collectible stainless steel “Mr. DP” adjustment/multi tool. After a global search the firm of Lion Steel of Maniago, Italy was selected to manufacture this knife based on their long heritage of quality, award winning folders. The DPx H•E•S•T folder is the collaboration of Robert Young Pelton (World’s Most Dangerous Places fame) and ESEE Knives. The DPx H•E•S•T Folder is based on Pelton's hard time in dangerous places, ESEE's commitment to customer satisfaction and Lion Steel's mastery of manufacturing quality and tolerances. The DPx H•E•S•T Folder is designed and made for hard use in hostile conditions with a lifetime warranty.
Measures 4 3/8" closed. This extreme-duty utility folder showcases a 3 1/4" D2 Tool Steel drop point blade (.187" thick) with plain edge. The blade features a precise hollow grind that is that is razor sharp and perfectly balanced.
This folder features a massive integrated framelock made completely of Titanium. The lock bar is CNC-milled directly out of the handle slab and is made of Grade 5 Titanium, .140" thick. This lock will stand up to the toughest operational demands! The ambidextrous thumb-studs make opening easy, and the protective finish on the blade and frame provides an attractive contrast to the G-10 scale. Comes with a stainless pocket clip. The front handle scale is CNC-machined from Olive Drab G-10 with tread design for a safe, secure grip and includes a Hex-bit driver. Comes complete with a handy glass-breaker for emergency situations. Weighs 5 oz. Note: Please specify either Right-Hand or Left-Hand when ordering. The Right-Hand version is currently in stock. We have one Left-Hand knife (first generation) in stock. The Left-Hand (Gen.2) folder will be available during late December, 2011. A FREE Wilson Tactical Lanyard is also included.
