Detailed Description
The IMP is a very abbreviated and compact knife that Mike Stewart developed for himself in 2007. The IMP is not a Featherweight and will take hard use. The edge is very sharp but stout and can carve with the best of them. In the field it is great by itself or combined with one of the larger Bark River knives. The sheath is already set up for Piggyback Carry with any of the larger knives. Mike wanted a stout little blade with enough handle to use whatever force he needed. He came up with this unique little knife and it is very comfortable and you can stress the blade all you want. The way the handle is shaped, the length is a lot less critical. The point is stout and the false grind gives you a thin enough tip to do fine work. With an overall length of 6.125 inches and a weight of 3.5 ounces the IMP makes a great "every day carry" belt knife. The 2.5 inch blade is the perfect size for small chores all the way up to field dressing medium game. The steel is A2 Tool steel, .145" thick, 58 RC. These knives will be real performers and will take an edge and hold it. By employing superior heat treat and multi-step temper, you will think that they are 154CM or ATS-34. This knife is a mini powerhouse that fits in the palm of your hand. Construction is full exposed tang. The Cocobolo Wood handle scales are stabilized, feature brass pins, are one of the most desirable of the full-figured exotic hardwoods and offer a real touch of class. A brown custom leather sheath is included.
